Welcome and thank you for taking a stand for your health and joining my in depth 6-Week Nutrition Program with a goal of managing blood sugar, supporting the gut and boosting brain health!
Maintaining balanced blood sugar levels and addressing insulin resistance are crucial for overall health and well-being. One effective approach that has gained recognition is the GAPS Ketogenic Way of eating. In this program, we will explore the significant benefits of this approach and how it can help you achieve optimal blood sugar levels, manage insulin resistance, bring down inflammation in the body, improve energy & mental clarity, heal the gut and so much more.

The 6 week program will consist of online modules that will support and guide you each week. During the modules, you will learn in depth details of how and why this dietary approach works. Each week, the modules will unlock and guide you through attainable and realistic steps to slowly ease into a ketogenic state where your body will naturally begin to reduce inflammation and begin cleaning up damaged tissue. You will be provided sample meal plans and recipes however can easily swap things out to suit your personal tastes. 

You will also receive a personalized one on one nutritional consultation with Virtue, where we dig into your concerns and health history. Upon completion, Virtue will provide you with a roadmap that you will use in conjunction to the online modules. 

You will be invited to attend 3 in person “Eat & Learn” Workshops at Virtuous Kitchen Inc. in Cambridge, Ont. located at 739 King Street East. During these workshops you will get to meet with a few others with similar goals and struggles. During the workshop, you will be served a fabulously nourishing meal while learning more in depth topics such as…

-Benefits of fermenting foods with a demo. 
-How to make a delicious and healing meat stock and why this and not bone broth.
-Making healthy treats with a take home sample.
-Making your own mayo, and why healthy fats are important.
-Learning about the benefits of salt, and reviewing the various kinds.
-Digging deeper into gut health.
-Benefits of Iodine, and so much more!

All three workshops are included with the program and will include take home gifts to support you in your journey. The workshops will also provide you with an opportunity to share struggles, ask questions and provide support to your fellow program attendees.

Bloating, cramps, gas, pain, acid reflux, irregular menstrual cycles, severe PMS, diarrhea and constipation are not to be overlooked and taken lightly. This is often the first sign that your body is out of balance and needs support. Rashes, eczema, rosacea, athletes foot, and skin tags are even more ways your body can show you that it needs support on the inside. Your skin is one of your biggest detox organs and is a simple way for your body to deal with toxins needing to get removed from the body. Fatigue, brain fog, memory loss, lack of motivation, depression, anxiety, mood swings and panic attacks are again, even more ways, and more serious, that your brain is not getting the nutritional supports that it needs.

All internal and external symptoms that your body is experiencing are ways that your body communicates with you that something is not quite right with your digestion, absorption and assimilation of the food you eat. Or perhaps, the food you are eating is adding to the problem. Yes, I know that’s hard to believe, but it’s very true. The most simple way to explain these conditions is...YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.

What you eat builds you a new body over and over again. If you give your body poor building material, it cannot build a quality body. If your processing plant - aka the digestive system - is malfunctioning, you cannot bring in the needed building material to rebuild, renew and grow healthy cells, hormones, proteins etc. Thankfully, the very important intestinal cells - epithelial cells - that assist in these vital functions, replace themselves every 5 days. This means, you can begin to turn your health around pretty fast! This is where things get tricky and often confusing. What do YOU EAT? Low fat, high fat, high protein, vegan, vegetarian and on and on and on...

As we have reviewed, there are many signs and symptoms that you may be experiencing, that you may have dismissed as not a big deal, that you feel are just “normal” parts of being human. I am here to ask you not to ignore your body. Tune in and listen, and please, pay attention before it gets worse. I have personally been there, done that and wish someone would have helped me turn things around sooner. I had constant fatigue, excess weight creeping on, lack of motivation, retention and memory lapses, foot rashes, low libido, constant stuffy nose, allergies, bloating and diarrhea. I thought I was eating healthy and did not understand why my young son was getting colds and asthma flair ups. It seemed to be so complicated to know what to eat which motivated me to study nutrition and go on a long journey of learning, healing and cooking!

In conclusion, I cannot say that my learning journey is completely over because the human body is amazing and complex. There is still so much to learn but I can say that I personally feel much better and know that I have tapped into Nutritional Truths that I would love to share with you. Some are simple yet oh so powerful and others may require a bit more effort to implement into your daily life.  But your health, well being and spirit deserve the best possible care. I truly believe food is medicine and that if your body is given the right nutritional building blocks, it can reverse any ailment, it can rebuild healthy robust cells that will provide foundational roots for you to live a vibrant life full of happiness.
6-Week Nutrition Program Recap

The program will include online modules that cover a well rounded view of our health including best practices for sleep, moving the body, managing stress, detoxing the body, supplement considerations and more. The modules will contain a staggered approach to layering on small changes to reach your goals. We will also dive into how to incorporate traditional fermented foods into your diet and how this can boost your digestion and health in so many ways. 

My hope is that you come away with a renewed understanding of how connected our health is to all facets of life and that what we eat really does matter and simply changing to a whole foods, low carb diet can be a powerful force in feeling energetic, motivated and avoiding a life filled with disease and inflammation. 

The program will include THREE- in person Eat & Learn Workshops where you will be served a delicious, nutrient dense meal. We will recap your week, discuss challenges, answer questions, and deep dive into a few important topics such as iodine, salt, fermented food demos and much more. The dates are April 6th, April 20th, and May 11th. Time is 3-5pm.

You will receive a Personalized Nutrition Consultation, which will allow me to review your nutrition & symptom questionnaire. From here we will have an in person meeting to further discuss your health concerns and goals. This meeting can last from 1-2 hrs and will be followed with an in depth recap & Health Plan that will be email to you which includes personalized suggestions to support you in feeling your best going forward. 

You will receive a Follow Up Consultation, generally lasting 30 min. This is a quick check in on how your feeling, if any new symptoms have popped up and if you have questions that I can help with.

What else to expect During Your One to One Consultation.

You may have recently gone to see your Naturopathic Doctor, Dietician, Nutritionist or Family Doctor and have been told to go on an elimination diet such as the GAPS protocol, AIP protocol, gluten free/dairy free diet, or a nightshade free diet. You may have a huge list of food sensitivities from a recent test and are not sure what to do with this information. You may feel low in energy, have major fatigue, brain fog, and on top of all that have multiple symptoms such bloating, gas, pain, diarrhea, and constipation.

This can be very tricky and cumbersome to deal with and often leaves you feeling overwhelmed - leading to burnout - and then giving up all together. I get it, that's why I decided to dive into the world of nutrition and find a way to help people get well and feel better - a way to address the root cause of illness using the power of food and proper nutrition that enables you to be the best version of yourself. 
Regain your health, energy and mental focus with Virtue during a customized one on one consultation. During your consultation, we will cover the basics of getting well with food choices, then take a deep dive into therapeutic protocols such as The GAPS Nutritional Protocol, The Ketogenic Diet, and/or a Carnivore Approach. The exact plan will be based on your individual symptoms and preferences. We will discuss how we can adapt these protocols to fit your own unique struggles and lifestyle. Upon completion, Virtue will provide you with a personalized nutrition plan featuring 3 main Points:
What are the details of your protocol and diet?
What supplements may help?
What lifestyle habits can you implement?
Various recipes will be included such as examples for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Snack ideas for your specific cravings and how to ferment your own veggies such as sauerkraut, how to make your own crème fraiche, how to make easy soups from scratch and more.

Virtue will provide you with actionable steps that you can put into place as fast or slow as you need depending on your personal symptoms. 

This personalized consultation will start with a full health history review followed by a one on one meeting. This is perfect for those wanting to take action and begin taking small steps towards better health through education and the support of a nutritionist who is by your side every step of the way. 

There are four main objectives to feeling well again with the GAPS Protocol that we will cover are....
1. Stop consuming foods that injure your gut & effectively your entire body
2. Start eating foods that will rebuild and heal your gut & ultimately your entire body

Upon receiving your Personalized Plan, Virtue would like for you to aim for a minimum of 6-8 weeks of implementing the protocol. This will allow your body time to adjust and make it though the transitional phase which can be quite difficult. Ultimately, the purpose of this session is to give you the tools you need to sustain a new way of eating for the long term. Depending on your symptoms and condition, you may need to adhere to certain aspects of your plan for the rest of your life. Your gut needs time to heal, repair, and reverse years of damage and this can take time. Down the road, you may be able to reintroduce foods that have been eliminated or you may see a reaction and need to continue avoiding that particular food. Everyone is different, therefore your journey will be unique to you.
